Understanding Investments and Risk in Financial Markets

Investing means putting your money to work with the intention of helping to make it grow and potentially build wealth.

Smart and effective investments could even help beat inflation. To harness the power of compounding, one must embark on the investment journey early.

Investing involves buying assets that might increase in value, such as stocks, ETFs, gold, real estate, or even shares in a mutual fund.

Investors usually consider financial markets while looking for opportunities to put their money to work. Financial markets refer broadly to any marketplace where the trading of securities occurs. It includes the stock market, bond market, forex market, and derivatives market, among others.

However, investing carries significant risks, as the money allocated in various securities might not always yield returns. The higher the potential of returns, the higher is the risk involved.

The value of the asset might fall over time, due to various factors, including changing preferences or wrong perception of demand, among others. Hence, it is important to know your risk appetite or tolerance for risk.

What will the students learn?

Investing early to harness the power of compounding

Investment opportunities in financial markets

Risks involved in financial markets

Investing during recession

A detailed flow of the event can be discussed once we decide on a step forward ,it will be around 2 hours with half an hour coffee break.
